Toro blueberry
Toro blueberry
Vaccinium corymbosum 'Toro'
A perfect all-purpose plant for the backyard grower. The stocky, strong Northern highbush variety, developed from a cross of Earliblue and Ivanhoe and introduced in 1987, grows to 4-6' feet tall and is covered with pink flowers that turn white, contrasting nicely with the bronze-colored spring foliage. The berries are large, firm and powder blue with an outstanding bright, sweet flavor. The fall foliage and winter wood are an attractive red color, which gives this winning variety 4-season beauty!
Sets heavy crops, even in bad spring weather. 800-1000 chill hours required to successfully bloom and set fruit. Requires highly acidic soil for good health. Midseason ripener.
